In fact , Sun Microsystems introduced first 64 bit workstation and 64 bit Solaris OS with the Sun Ultra 1

There are many wrong perceptions on the cost of investment in virtualization technology.

Virtualization product vendors claim that there is substantial cost saving in electricty bill . I would say it is a hard selling using this claim.

For example , additional power consumption and heat dissipation will be incurred when a physical server runs virtual server and its applications . As a result , you probably need to redesign the cooling system in your server room

Windows 7 RC Offers No Excitement

I am using VirtualBox version 2.2.2 to evaluate Windows 7 RC Build 7100.

Although there are a lot of positive feedbacks around , I don’t see any significant improvement of Windows 7 RC over Vista SP2 besides it run a little bit faster

I would assume Windows 7 is Vista bundled with unreleased SP3 and few stunning wallpapers

Those who skip Vista and wait for Windows 7 will probably be disappointed

ESET Incompatible with Vista SP2

I am quite surprise to know that the ESET Smart Security 4.0 and ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.0 conflict with Vista and W2K8 Servick Pack 2

There is no similar report from other anti-virus vendors to date

ESET should have ample time to test and verify the compatibility

Are ESET products developed in a way that slight changes in Vista render them inoperative ?

Will Microsoft wait for ESET to resolve the conflict before they release SP2 through Windows Update and WSUS ?

ESET have yet to release any fixes
